Math
Today we learned about stem and leaf plots. Stem and leaf plots organize numbers based on place value. For numbers less than 100, the stems are the tens place and the leaves are the ones place. When we take a closer look at the plots you completed today, you'll see that they really do look a lot like bar graphs.
Remember when you are writing observations about your stem and leaf plot, you must use the entire number, not just the "leaves".
If the data above represented tests scores out of 100 (%), what are some observations you can make?
- 63% was the lowest score
- 100% was the highest scoe
- Most students scored between 70% and 90%
- 3 students achieved 86% and 91%
- No one failed the test
We will continue with stem and leaf plots tomorrow.
Reminders:
- Try to complete a Mathletics assignment tonight if you're not too tired before the play.
