Math
Today we began studying time. Please complete the assigned pages in your booklet as a review. Use the links for the weekend and from past posts practice telling time to the nearest minute. Some language you should be familiar with:

  • half past
  • quarter to
  • quarter past
We also looked at different units of time: decades, centuries and millennia. Try these questions.
What was the year:
2 centuries ago
2 millennia ago
7 decades ago

What will be the year:
in 5 millennia
in 3 decades
in 4 centuries

Tomorrow we will start with elapsed time.

Literacy
Ivan remembered some terrible memories about his mother and father. Why do you think Ivan refers to his domain as a cage?

Social Studies
We ran out of time to do the talking chips properly. Please review the climographs on page 52. Practice making conclusions about the temperature and precipitation in the five cities. Remember the bars are precipitation and the scale is on the RIGHT. The line is temperature and the scale is on the LEFT. It doesn't make sense to have precipitation with negative numbers! The units are different as well. Precipitation is mm and temperature is degrees Celsius.

Reminders:
  • Tomorrow we will showcasing our habitats for the younger students. Make sure you animal summary is done tomorrow.
  • Gymnastics in Phys. Ed class tomorrow
  • Candy-grams go on sale on Wednesday
  • Share a book students, make sure you practice for Wednesday (Joseph, Chloe, Ryerson)
