Today we talked about equations and variables. Remember the equal sign is like the fulcrum on a balance. Both sides of the equal sign must be the same.

Equation: a mathematical sentence that has an equal sign e.g. 2 + d = 12

Expression: A math sentence with numbers, variables and a math operation (+ / - / x / - ) e.g. 4 x p

Variable: A letter or symbol that represents a number e.g. a, x, @, * 

Knowing your family of facts and using opposite operations are good strategies to solving equations. Please make sure you finish your homework practice.
