Science
Today we reviewed our results for exploration from Monday. There were three new products produced in the following reaction:
We also soaked some pennies in vinegar. What happened? What was the new substance formed? The same reaction happened on the Statue of Liberty.

Next week we will build volcanoes in groups. If you do a search on-line, you should be able to get some ideas. Each group must have a Gatorade -like bottle for the centre of the volcano. The design is up to your group. I will bring all the REACTANTS.

Math
We continued completing our stem and leaf plots and double bar graphs using the computer. Unfortunately many students lost their Internet connection and their graphs. We'll see if your laptop will recover your files tomorrow. Cross your fingers.
Please continue to review for the test. You should bring home your MathUP duotang to study. Complete a few pages in your booklet to review long division.

Social Studies
Grade 4
Today we examined the physical features in Ancient Rome and Judea. The features that they have in common are ones that are needed to survive. You will be completing your comparison chart during the grade five lesson. If you did not finish your definitions, questions and artifact, you will have enough time to complete it tomorrow.

Grade 5
You also looked artifacts and how they provide clues about the people and life long ago.

Thank you to all students who worked quietly during the split lessons. Almost everyone worked well independently and everyone showed excellent self-regulation.

Reminders:
  • Math tests Thursday and Friday on division and multiplication
