Social Studies
In grade four we talked about different farming practices in Ancient Rome and Judea. Why did they plant in the fall and harvest crops in the spring? When do we plant and harvest in our area? I will be reviewing notebooks over the weekend. Make sure you have completed all of your comparison charts neatly. It will be much easier to write your comparison paragraph. Tomorrow we will finish discussing natural resources in Judea and Ancient Rome.

In grade five we discussed how the First Nations communities made decisions. Decisions were made by consensus, everyone had to agree. It is still a practice used today and is often used in elementary schools to resolve conflicts. How do you think talking circles helps consensus decision making? Do you think it would work in a classroom? Share with a parent the practice of smudging. We have completed our content for the week in grade five. The remaining time this week will be spent on completing assignments and questions.
