Another magnificent day!
Writing:We started off the morning with s-t-r-e-t-c-h-y sentences. The goals of stretchy sentences:
We are learning to expand our vocabulary and use feedback to revise our sentences so that we can write clear and descriptive sentences that flow and paint a picture with words.
In the mornings you are expected to complete one stretchy sentence using words from your "Book of Lists" which is really a simple thesaurus.
I can't wait to read what you wrote tonight. Remember to read my FEEDBACK in the morning and REVISE based on my comments.
Today we began "Number Talks". We started off with counting dots. It was interesting to listen to your strategies for counting dots. Explain to a parent how you count these dots using the link below (don't forget to use your hand signals):

Reading
We talked about our first before reading strategy: ACTIVATE YOUR SCHEMA.
Tomorrow we will review the next before reading strategy: PREDICTING. What do you think will happen to Kylie and her mother? Although we divide our reading strategies into before, during and after strategies, some strategies are used before and during or during and after or before, during and after!
Art
If you have spare time throughout the day, make sure you are working on your "All About Me" poster. You are welcome to bring it home, but you should have enough time to complete it by Friday.
Physical Education
Wow! Everyone did an amazing job running today for cross country. Excellent effort and determination. Keep up the great work. Congratulations to Elliot who ran 7 laps today.
Don't forget your gym clothes!
Throughout the week we will be completing a few diagnostic tests. Thank you for working so quietly. We should be done all of our diagnostic assessments by Friday. Remember to try your best and not worry too much about them. They are completed to help me help you!
