Reading
Most students finished their reading test. While you were reading in your group, your task was to identify the features of informational (non-fiction) texts. Some students did not understand the test question. After everyone finishes the test, we will review the features again. We will be having reading groups more often the next few months as we have finished our novel.

DON'T FORGET TO PRACTICE YOUR LINES FOR YOUR NOVEL READING WITH YOUR GROUP. Remember you can wear something as simple as a hat / cap with a picture attached to distinguish one character from another.

Social Studies
Your last assignment in our unit on Canada is you mind map. You will be given some time to finish it tomorrow in class. It is due before March Break (next Friday).

Math
I think everyone understands estimating sums and difference. Next is more traditional (pencil and paper) addition and subtraction and PROBLEM SOLVING. We will practice our CUBES strategy for solving problems. Some problems will require TWO STEPS so understanding the problem is very important.
After March Break we will be studying multiplication and division. Take a look at this video. It makes learning your multiplication facts pretty easy.

Olympics
Your Olympic scrapbook is due before March Break. You will be given some time to work it tomorrow. Look through the newspapers for any photos or articles to include about your country, athlete or sports.

Reminders

  • Thank you to the students who were guests in classrooms today. You were very well behaved. Give yourself a pat on the back! You were also an excellent audience during the school presentation.
  • Gymnastics team please return clean green Nighthawk shirts as soon as possible.
